1001 Books

Boxallin 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die -lista, näköjään sisältäen useamman painoksen: Vuoden 2006 hyvin anglofonipainotteisen listan ja myöhemmät muutokset kansainvälisemmän kattavuuden suuntaan, yhteensä päälle 1300 nimikettä siis.

Olen merkinnyt listalta lukemani kirjat: keltaisella kaikki joista löytyy linkit bloggauksiin, vihreällä ne joista ei löydy (osasta näistäkin kirjoista on tosin ollut juttua blogissa vanhoissa kuukausisummauksissa tai blogattujen kirjojen yhteydessä).
Päätin merkitä luetuiksi sellaisia tarinakokoelmia joissa on jossain määrin epäselvää mitä versiota lopulta tarkoitettiin, mutta joita olen lukenut tarpeeksi että käsitys teoksesta on mahdollinen (mm. Aisopoksen sadut, Tuhannen ja yhden yön tarinat). 
Myös osa kauan sitten luetuista on todellakin kauan sitten luettuja enkä välttämättä kovin paljoa muista muuta kuin että olen lukenut. Toisaalta olen jättänyt merkitsemättä pari kirjaa jotka olen varmasti aloittanut ja melko varmasti loppuunkin lukenut mutten ihan varma ole, periaatteessa voisin merkitä hyvillä mielin nekin luetuiksi mutta...(ainakin Casino Royale ja Liisan seikkailut Ihmemaassa)
On tuolla tietysti myös joukko kirjoja jotka olen lukenut osittain mutta jotka ovat jääneet kesken. Osaan pitänee palata, osan kohdalla taas kuolema saattaisi käydä tervetulleeksi vaihtoehdoksi...
